Well, this was peculiar. I received an email telling me that “as a valued member”, I will receive 10,000 Aeroplan points … for nothing. I generally do not believe in free stuff, so I figured this must be either a marketing ploy or outright phishing.
But a day later, the points posted to my account. Doing some research, it appears as if you a) accumulated at least 50,000 miles in this calendar year so far (not status – any miles) and redeemed for a ticket between June and September, you were eligible – I had no idea, but am happy.
