Since I was lucky and not only scored a free room at the Intercontinental Park Lane, but also one that included breakfast, I figured why not – let’s give it a try. Typically, hotel breakfasts are eggs, bacon and juices, with a few random things sprinkled here and there for “variety”. This is what I was expecting. I could not have been more wrong.
The best breakfast I had had so far was at the Ottawa Fairmont Chateau Laurier. This one… passed it so far that it’s not even worth putting them in the same sentence together. The variety at the Park Lane was spectacular. Cold cuts, hot food, fifteen types of cheeses, more pastries than a bakery shop… and the list goes on.
Reviewing the pictures, I am highly annoyed that I smudged them all, but the rough idea comes across.
Breakfast complete, we were ready to visit the next location; a place that the travel geek in me has wanted to visit for a long time, and one that was a checkmark on my list of to-do things in the world of travel.
