The deadline to apply for the Royal Bank British Airways Visa is fast approaching – don’t miss it. 50,000 Avios points after an admittedly hefty $5K minimum spend in 3 months – but it’s definitely worthwhile. Although BA gutted the program a year ago, so it’s no longer useful for longhaul redemptions, the short hauls can be tremendous value. Compare YUL-JFK: 15,000 Aeroplan points and $170 in taxes, vs 9,000 Avios and around $30 in taxes.
